The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan is running a programme called Japan-Africa / Latin America Coding Contest 2022. Considering that Japan is a strategic partner, of which South Africa has good relations, South African students studying Information Technology (IT) or related fields are encouraged to apply.
The programme is fully sponsored by the Japanese Government through the Official Development Assistance for developing countries in Africa and Latin America.
