ESASTAP Information Sharing Session

The Department of Science and Innovation (DSI), through the European South African Science and Technology Advancement Programme (ESASTAP), will host a series of information sessions aimed at disseminating information as well as orientating researchers and innovators on the opportunities available between South Africa and the European Union.
The first of these sessions was held on the 7th of October 2022 from 09:00 to 12:00 (SAST).
The opportunities available are afforded through the various programmes funded under the Framework Programme, Horizon Europe. These opportunities span a wide array of focus areas, from Researcher Mobility, Biodiversity, Water Research, Business Development, Policy Advancement, and many others.
The Information Session was in the form of an online webinar. Participants engaged with presenters and speakers in real time using the chat function. Speakers, both local to South Africa and international, presented about the collaboration opportunities and open calls that are currently available and upcoming within the network.

OVERVIEW
ESASTAP is a collaborative initiative between South Africa and the European Union. The programme’s main objective is to strengthen ties within the field of science, technology and innovation. Funding for projects, mainly sourced from both the Department of Science and Innovation of the Republic of South Africa and the European Commission.
