Project results are expected to contribute to all the following expected outcomes:
- contribution to the new Commission strategy with Africa, notably to the following specific objectives: rapidly enhance learning, knowledge and skills, research and innovation capacities (with attention to female and young researchers);
- enhanced research capacities in Africa;
- enhanced Euro-African cooperation in R&I.
ESASTAP is a collaboration between the Department of Science and Innovation, partnering member states and the European Commission. The programme’s main objective is to strengthen ties within the field of science, technology and innovation. Funding for projects, mainly sourced from both the Department of Science and Innovation of the Republic of South Africa and the European Commission.
